New, cheaper Nest Thermostat is out

The new, more affordable Nest is out, and they've delivered.

The original Nest Learning Thermostat will continue to sell for $250, the new Nest, Thermostat E is priced at $169.

Here's what they've done: First, the look is meant to blend with the wall, unlike the original nest. Second, they replaced the metal ring around the unit with a white plastic ring. The face is white as well helping the unit to blend into most walls.

The constant is that the Thermostat E is still learning, even though they dropped "Learning" from the name.
